CHRISTIANS KILLING CHRISTIANS

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour,

and hate thine enemy.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you,

and persecute you; “

I listened last night to a young and pregnant Russian woman tell of the plight of her and her husband and family and many others of their church as they feel compelled to leave Russia in search of somewhere in the world to live in peace.

I am new to her channel so I do not know if she discloses precisely why they left Russia but it has caused me to consider the plight of believers in both countries as the war rages on.

It is one thing to face the financial duress and economic uncertainties caused by the sanctions and the war itself but these people have left all behind and face even more uncertainties as they seek refuge in foreign lands so it cannot simply be for financial reasons. This particular young woman and other Russians I have heard have praised facebook and twitter as somehow being free speech. She will learn that the censorship in the “free countries” is as real as that in Russia.

It is my assumption that one of the primary and maybe unspoken reasons for leaving Russia is to avoid forced conscription into the military to be forced into the governments war on Ukraine. Every Russian young man must serve one year in the military and this spring 134 thousand are being called into military service whether they want to or not. To flee this draft is a crime punishable by heavy fines and years of imprisonment.

In the Ukraine it is far worse. Zelensky declared martial law and forbid all men under 60 from leaving the country. He set up check points to catch men trying to leave with their wives and children and stopped them at gun point telling them they must return home and take up arms to defend their country.

Here is the heartbreaking video of one Ukrainian forced to leave his family at the border. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10550369/Heartbreaking-footage-Ukrainian-father-saying-goodbye-evacuating-daughter.html

It is one thing for men to willingly take up arms in defense of their families, their God and their country but when governments force men to go to war when everything in their conscience tells them it is wrong it is one of the greatest violations of conscience and liberty known to man. To force someone to kill simply in the name of government is gravely unjust.

The war in Ukraine is pitting neighbor against neighbor, family against family and Christian against Christian and this war was totally avoidable if outside interests (the United States) had kept their money and instigations out of it.

For the Christian, facing the prospect of being forced to take a gun and kill another Christian’s daddy or husband or son puts them in the unenviable position of violating every principle dear to their faith.

The people of Russia and Ukraine are neighbors and our Lord commanded in the second great commandment,

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” (Matthew 22:39 [KJV])

Nearly three quarters of both nations claim to be “orthodox Christians” either of the Russian orthodox church or the Ukrainian Orthodox church. This war pits Christian brother against Christian brother and not simply in a dispute over doctrine or position but in a physical fight to the death perhaps both having a Bible in their pocket as they kill. A Bible that teaches:

“Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. “

(I John 3:15 [KJV])

Not only is the Christian commanded to “Love thy neighbor” and to love their brothers in the Lord but we are also commanded to love our enemies.

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; “ Matthew 5:43-44

So Christians from Russia and Ukraine are being forced to flee their homelands and be branded as traitors to avoid taking up arms in this devastating war but what if the war spreads to those lands as well?

There is already talk of renewing the draft here in the United States. The time for discussion and soul searching is now, not later. What is it that we are willing to fight for? Is it the propagation of the LGBT and planned parenthood agendas on other lands? Is it to hasten the totalitarian government of the globalists who desire to usher in the final one world government foretold in Scripture to be utterly devoid of justice and led by Satan himself?

What exactly are our “vital interests” in the Ukraine? Why do we as a nation believe we must but airbases and missiles and our own soldiers on Russia’s border? If it is to keep world peace it is failing miserably.

Already there is blood on our hands as a nation. We invoked this war. We are encouraging it and paying for it financially and sending missiles and guns and ammunition to keep it going. We have unofficially sent troops already both as supposed “mercenaries”, “advisors” and CIA black ops. We cannot think that our hands as Americans are somehow clean of this mess. Our government and dollars are very much involved.

Do not mistake this devotional as a statement that I myself am a pacifist. I am not. This war could spiral out of control and we could find our own nation under direct attack and there will be nowhere to flee from involvement in the conflagration.

What will be our response then as Christians? Do we send our sons and daughters to fight under the rainbow flag of the LGBT ? Do we defend our nation and what does that mean anymore? What does it mean these days to be a Patriot? A Christian?

Hundreds of innocent Americans are being held without trial in nothing less than a gulag for entering the US capitol after being waved in by the guards themselves.

The situation we find ourselves in is very grave indeed.
